Dive into the untold stories of Downtown Cairo through engaging talks, powerful storytelling, and interactive memory-mapping sessions!
Day 1 – July 18:
“Downtown Cafés: Tales from the Heart of Cairo”A rich discussion by Prof. Mostafa Gad—UNESCO expert and former dean of the Folk Art Institution—on Downtown’s iconic cafés and their deep-rooted cultural significance. Hear his personal memories and professional insights as we build the oral archive of the city together.
Day 2 – July 19:
Storytelling Session (7:00–7:45 PM)Led by Dr. Alaa Khairi & Mr. Mohamed Kamel, this creative session brings Downtown’s stories to life through voices, emotions, and shared memories.
Participatory Mapping Workshop (7:45–9:30 PM)Facilitated by the iCulture team, contribute to building a community-generated oral history map of Downtown Cairo!

انضموا لينا في فعالية مميزة لمدة يومين! متحف ناس وسط البلد… حكايات وذكريات 18 و19 يوليو | من 7 مساءً لـ 9:30 مساءً الجامعة الأمريكية بالقاهرة – الحرم الرئيسي، قاعة أوريانتال استعدوا تغوصوا في حكايات وسط البلد اللي ما اتقالتش قبل كده، من خلال نقاشات ممتعة، جلسات حكي مؤثرة، وورشة لرسم خريطة من الذكريات! اليوم الأول – 18 يوليو: “قهاوي وسط البلد: حكايات من قلب القاهرة”نقاش غني مع د. مصطفى جاد – خبير اليونسكو وعميد سابق لمعهد الفنون الشعبية – هيحكي عن تراث القهاوي وأثرها الثقافي، وذكرياته الشخصية في شوارع وسط البلد.
اليوم الثاني – 19 يوليو: جلسة حكي مباشر (7:00–7:45 مساءً)مع د. آلاء خيري والأستاذ محمد كامل، هيحكوا حكايات وسط البلد بأسلوب مؤثر وملهم.
ورشة رسم الخريطة الشفهية (7:45–9:30 مساءً)بقيادة فريق iCulture، هنعمل سوا خريطة حية تحكي وسط البلد من خلال ذكريات الناس.
