اليوم الأول | ليلة حكايات وألعاب في متنزه الخليفة
التاريخ: الجمعة 22 مارس
المكان: متنزه الخليفة

ليلة ألعاب في متنزه الخليفة بالتعاون مع المركز العربي للأوريجامي ومكوك ودار مرح للنشر. يضم اليوم مجموعة من أنشطة لعب تراث التابعة للأثر لنا، وألعاب لوحية وأحاجي، وأنشطة تلوين ومسابقات، وورشة صناعة أفلام متحركة بالأوريجامي. وأخيرًا، لعبة “خف تعوم” التي قام بتطويرها أحمد سقف الحيط وفريقه مع الأطفال من سكان منطقة الخليفة خلال عامي 2022 و2023. تختتم الفعاليات بعرض “حكاوي المطبقاتي” بالتعاون مع المركز العربي للأوريجامي. بالإضافة إلى معرض بيع ألعاب وكتب الأطفال على هامش الفعاليات طوال اليوم.

اليوم الثاني | حول الفنون وخلق مساحات عامة
التاريخ: السبت 23 مارس
المكان: مركز الخليفة الخدمي ومتنزه الخليفة

نقاش بمركز الخليفة الخدمي حول الفنون والمساحات العامة ومسألة الزوال والإتاحة. تدير النقاش ياسمين الضرغامي، مؤسسة ورئيسة تحرير راوي | مجلة التراث المصري، وينضم إليها كل من:
أحمد العطار، المؤسس والمدير الفني لمهرجان وسط البلد للفنون المعاصرة (دي-كاف) وشركة المشرق للإنتاج السينمائي والمسرحي.
ريم أيمن، معمارية في مختبر عمران القاهرة للتصميم والدراسات.
عمرو أبو طويلة، معماري ومدير برامج التنمية التراثية والثقافية بآركينوس للعمارة.
هبة الشيخ، مستشارة ومدربة في مجالات الإدارة الثقافية.
يلي اللقاء استراحة قصيرة ومعرض لمشروع زخارف القاهرة يقام في متنزه الخليفة وينتهي اليوم بعرض أدائي لنانسي منير بمركز الخليفة الخدمي.

اليوم الثالث | حول المطبخ المجتمعي وعادات الطعام
التاريخ: الجمعة 29 مارس
المكان: مركز الخليفة الخدمي

نقاش حول الطعام والتراث والمجتمع، يديره كل من منة الله الدري، باحثة في تاريخ المطبخ المصري بالجامعة الأمريكية بالقاهرة وجامعة عين شمس، وياسمين الضرغامي، مؤسسة ورئيسة تحرير راوي | مجلة التراث المصري، في حوار مع كل من:
عبدالله توفيق، شريك مؤسس في Urban Greens.
هدير أحمد، مديرة برامج في مؤسسة نوايا.
حسام جاد، باحث في التاريخ الأنثروبولوجي في مجاورة للفكر العمراني.
مي عامر، مديرة مشروع في مطبخ دوار.
دكتور ميسرة عبد الله حسين، نائب مدير الشؤون الأثرية بالمتحف القومي للحضارة المصرية.
محمد هاني، المدير التنفيذي وشريك مؤسس في Zest.
ويختتم اليوم بسحور مع نوايا وبلديني، حيث يستخدم المشاركون أعشاب متنزه الخليفة وجبن بخيرها المصنوع يدويًا لعمل البيتزا الخاصة بهم.

This year, familiar spaces serve as mediators of connections and conversations, becoming boundless, nurturing communities and seamlessly melding venues, their histories, and the people they bring together – Now in its 11th edition, Spend the Day in Khalifa centres around the interconnectedness between space, place, and people. Spanning three days across two weekends, SDK 11’ will be hosted at two venues: al-Khalifa Park and al-Khalifa Community Centre. With an open invitation for everyone to participate, we witness how these spaces come alive as individuals and groups of different backgrounds gather, interact, and create shared experiences.

Event Schedule:

Day One | Tales and Riddles at al-Khalifa Park
Date: Friday 22nd of March
Venue: Al-Khalifa Park

In collaboration with the Arab Origami Center (AOC), Makouk, and Marah Publishing House, enjoy a game night at al-Khalifa Park featuring Athar Lina’s Heritage Play activities alongside a variety of board games, puzzles, colouring and craft activities, trivia challenges, an origami animation station, and an arcade game demo developed with children from al-Khalifa community throughout 2022 and 2023 by Ahmed Saqfalhait and his team. The activities will culminate with a special live performance, “Tales of the Origamist” by AOC. Throughout the day, a bazaar will run offering children’s books and games.

Day Two | Urban Tapestry: On Arts and Public Space
Date: Saturday 23rd of March
Venue: Khalifa Community Centre and al-Khalifa Park.

A conversation on arts, public space, and the question of ephemerality and accessibility led by Yasmine El Dorghamy, founder of Rawi | Egypt’s Heritage Review, at the Khalifa Community Centre. She is joined by panellists:
Ahmed El-Attar, founder and general manager of Orient Productions & D-CAF.
Reem Ayman, architect at CLUSTER.
Amr Abu Tawila, architect and cultural heritage programme manager at ARCHiNOS Architecture.
Heba El-Cheikh, art manager and creative producer.
Reem Ayman, architect at CLUSTER.
Following the discussion, there will be a walkthrough exhibition by Patterns of Cairo at al-Khalifa Park. The day will conclude with a live performance by Nancy Mounir at the Khalifa Community Centre.

Day Three | Nurturing Togetherness: Through Community Kitchens
Date: Friday 29th of March
Venue: Khalifa Community Centre

On food, heritage, and community, Mennat Allah El-Dorry, food archaeologist at the American University in Cairo and Ain Shams University, and Yasmine El Dorghamy, founder of Rawi | Egypt’s Heritage Review, will lead a panel discussion in conversation with:
Abdullah Tawfiq, co-founder of Urban Greens Egypt.
Hadeer Ahmed, program manager at Nawaya.
Hossam Gad, anthropological history researcher at Megawra.
Mai Amer, project manager at Dawar Kitchen.
Maissara Abd Allah Hussein, deputy director for antiquities at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC).
Mohamed Hany, CEO and co-founder of Zest.
The day will culminate in a suhoor with Nawaya and Baladini, inviting attendees to make their own pizza with handmade cheese and fresh herbs from al-Khalifa Park.
