نبدأ أول عرض في شهر سبتمبر مع تيمة “مدن مرئية و مدن مروية” مع فيلم معطراً بالنعناع للمخرج محمد حمدي. تم عرض الفيلم للمرة الأولى في مهرجان فينيسيا 2024 ومهرجان تورنتو ومراكش الدولي في نفس السنة. يشرفنا عرض الفيلم لأول مرة في القاهرة في سينما المنيرة

نبذة عن الفيلم:
وسط أطلال مدينتهم المهدّمة، يجتمع شمل أصدقاء قدامى داخل كابوس غريب حيث تُنبت أجسادهم نعناعًا. وبينما هم مُطاردون من قِبل ظلال لا تعرف الهوان، يحاولون الهرب من تلك الظلال، والخروج من المتاهة، فهل سينجحون أم سيُحبسون داخل شوارع قديمة فارغة تملؤها الذكريات؟
عن المخرج :
محمد حمدي مصور سينمائيّ من القاهرة، حائز على جائزة الإيمي. صوّر وشارك في إنتاج فيلم “الميدان” الذي رُشح لجائزة الأوسكار، وعُرض في مهرجان صن دانس وفاز بجائزة الجمهور للسينما العالمية، وأيضًا فاز بجائزة اختيار الجمهور في مهرجان تورنتو 2013 ،صوّر حمدي “نحن العمالقة” في عام 2014، و”محاكمات الربيع” في 2015، و”أولمو والنورس” في 2015، والذي فاز بجائزة أفضل نورديك دوكس في مهرجان كوبنهاجن الدولي للأفلام الوثائقية، وفاز أيضًا بجائزة أفضل وثائقي في مهرجان ريو السينمائي

We kickstart “City as a Living Organism”program with the Cairo premiere of Muhammed Hamdy’s PERFUMED WITH MINT. The film premiered at the 2024 Venice Film Festival, followed by screenings at Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and Marrakech International Film Festival in the same year.
Bahaa, a lovesick physician and his old friend Mahdy try to escape the ghosts of their past, running from one abandoned house to another as they are chased relentlessly by shadows. Succeed, or remain trapped inside vacant, ancient streets steeped in memories ?
Mohamed Hamdy is an Emmy Award-winning cinematographer based in Cairo. He shot and co-produced the Oscar-nominated documentary THE SQUARE, which premiered at Sundance Film Festival (winning the World Cinema Audience Award) and won the People’s Choice Award at Toronto International Film Festival 2013. Hamdy also shot WE ARE GIANTS (2014), THE SPRING TRIALS (2015), and OLMO AND THE SEAGULL (2015)—which won Best Nordic Doc at CPH:DOX and Best Documentary at the Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival.
