Workshop | Reading between the lines
W O R K S H O P
“Make it lighter.”
“Less is more.”
“Try it again, but different.”
Working with a director’s instructions is an essential part of acting for film. This two-day intensive workshop explores how actors can interpret directorial notes, turn them into playable actions and collaborate creatively with directors on set.
Led by Austria-based acting coach Frauke Steiner, the workshop brings together 12 selected film actors from across the region. Working in small groups, participants will explore how to understand their film characters, make clear acting choices and respond flexibly to directors’ instructions. The focus is on how actors can develop their own artistic expression while working within a director’s vision.
