Life Is Beautiful – Seminar on the Book by Tereza Boučková
On 29 January 2026, the renowned Czech writer Tereza Boučková will take part in a literary seminar as part of her participation at the Cairo International Book Fair. Following recent appearances by Czech authors at the fair, this event continues the growing presence of contemporary Czech literature in Egypt.
The seminar will focus on Life Is Beautiful and Boučková’s broader literary work, known for its candid, autobiographically inflected prose and strong personal voice. Boučková is the author of several acclaimed books, including Indian Run and The House on Matoušova Street, and has also worked as a screenwriter for Czech cinema.
The discussion will be moderated by Amr Shatury, Professor of Czech Language at Ain Shams University and a leading translator of Czech literature into Arabic.

تركّز الندوة على كتاب Life Is Beautiful وعلى المسار الأدبي الأوسع لـ Tereza Boučková، المعروف بنثره الصريح ذي الطابع السيري وبصوته الأدبي القوي. وهي مؤلفة لعدد من الكتب البارزة، من بينها Indian Run و The House on Matoušova Street، كما عملت أيضًا ككاتبة سيناريو في السينما التشيكية.
تُدار الندوة من قبل Amr Shatury، أستاذ اللغة التشيكية في جامعة عين شمس وأحد أبرز مترجمي الأدب التشيكي إلى العربية.
