📖🎯 BOOK CHALLENGE #7 | The Unbearable Lightness of Being

The number seven is an interesting one. If you are one of the regulars of our Czech Book Club, you know that the seventh club is coming up. In May, we will meet with the host نورا ناجي-Nora Nagi at Bibliothek Egypt, with the exact date to be confirmed.

Book Challenge #7 is none other than one of the most important novels of the 20th century: The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera. Milan Kundera (1929–2023) was a Czech-born writer known for blending philosophy, politics, and humor in his novels. Forced into exile in France after the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia, he wrote in both Czech and French. His most famous work, The Unbearable Lightness of Being (1984), explores love, fate, and identity under totalitarian rule.

Book Challenge #7 يناقش أحد أهم روايات القرن العشرين: كائن لا تحتمل خفته للكاتب ميلان كونديرا.

ميلان كونديرا (1929–2023)، كاتبًا تشيكيًا اشتهر بمزجه بين الفلسفة والسياسة والفكاهة في رواياته. أُجبر على المنفى في فرنسا بعد الغزو السوفيتي لتشيكوسلوفاكيا، وكتب باللغتين التشيكية والفرنسية. تعد رواية كائن لا تحتمل خفته (1984) أشهر أعماله، حيث يستكشف من خلاله الحب، والقدر، والهوية في ظل الحكم الشمولي.

So far, the copies of Kundera’s book are available at Diwan Bookstore Cinema Radio branch, FALAK and Creativo Coworking Space. Soon, additional copies of The Unbearable Lightness of Being will be available in Arabic and English at the remaining partner venues.
